ALS Awareness Ride & BBQ — June 22, 2024
Gear Up and Ride for Change and help spread awareness about ALS.
On June 22, 2024, ALS Awareness Events hosted the ALS Awareness Ride and BBQ. The event started with a charity motorcycle ride outside the city and ended at Stray Dog Brewing Company. Afterwards, there was a BBQ for everyone and live music, with proceeds donated to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and ALS Clinic.
The first year of the event, June 24, 2023, had a great turnout and raised $12,790 for ALS Canada. The goal for 2024 was to grow bigger, create more awareness, bring together more people, and raise more funds for research to help find a cure for ALS.
Two parts to the event
- ALS Awareness Ride: A scenic motorcycle ride starting at Motor Sports World, 1375 Clyde Ave. in Nepean, designed to end at Stray Dog Brewing Company.
- ALS Awareness BBQ: Starting at 3 PM at Stray Dog Brewing Company, 501 Lacolle Way, Orléans, for everyone not attending the motorcycle ride. The event included a BBQ, live music and a silent auction.
