The 2026 ALS Awareness BBQ

A new home for the fourth annual ALS Awareness BBQ.

The 2026 ALS Awareness BBQ — A New Home

Every year, our ALS Awareness BBQ has grown — more friends at the table, more awareness raised, more reason to keep going. This year, the event found a new home to grow into.

On July 12, 2026, the fourth annual BBQ was held at The Richmond Estate Winery. Tucked into 38 acres of rolling farmland just outside Richmond — about half an hour from downtown Ottawa — The Richmond Estate Winery (formerly the Jabulani Winery) is a family-grown vineyard where rows of vines, a quiet orchard, and a sun-warmed tasting patio open onto some of the prettiest sunsets in the Valley.

Named Ottawa’s Venue of the Year, it’s the kind of place that feels less like a venue and more like a gathering of family.

From 1 PM to 6 PM, the event featured live music from Dan Charrette and Fastlane, an online auction, and food from the Angry Dragonz Food Truck, Biagio’s Pizza Trailer, Black Belt Mini Beignets and others.

The original event page noted that ALS Awareness Events had raised over $51,000 toward its 2030 goal of $100,000.
